EHP Wägetechnik GmbH was founded in 1979 and was initially active in the field of machine and plant controls. Today, with more than 24,000 crane scales in use worldwide, EHP with its weighing technology is the leading suppliers of systems for weighing tasks.

The realisation that earlier weighing systems with analogue displays were unstable, difficult to read and weight values could not be transferred correctly led EHP to develop the first digital crane scale, initially for extreme foundry use in ambient temperatures of up to 1,600° C. The first crane scale was developed by EHP for use in the foundry industry.

In 1986, the Baden industrial company was the first company in the world to design a calibratable crane scale. Since then, the product range has been continuously improved and expanded. Today, EHP crane scales are used wherever goods are transported and handled by crane and at the same time have to be weighed quickly and efficiently. State-of-the-art radio technology transmits weight data from EHP crane scales over a distance of up to 500m to the user's IT infrastructure, even under the most difficult environmental conditions.

The second pillar of EHP Weighing Technology is compact and high-precision load cells. With a nominal load of up to 100,000 kg per unit, these precision assemblies are used in the components business.

Typical fields of application in addition to crane scales are silo, hopper, road and vehicle scales as well as special machine construction.
